It is with heavy hearts and deep sorrow that we are announcing the passing of a long time Umpqua family member and key figure in fly-fishing. BRUCE OLSON passed away yesterday afternoon at his home in Superior, CO, and will be missed terribly by many people in our community.

Umpqua Amps Up Marketing… Names Luke Wennik Marketing Manager
Nearly two years ago, we launched a new logo that coincided with our key product category launch of award-winning packs, bags and vests. During the past two years, we have redesigned our entire line of packaging, the corporate Web site and most of our marketing collateral. With a significant portion of the internal brand infrastructure in place, we are now looking to further extend the new identity into the retail and electronic marketplace and promote the Umpqua brand through several strategic channels.

We're excited to announce that carp and “roughfish” fly tyer/designer Jean-Paul Lipton has joined Umpqua’s team of Signature Tyers. One of the early practitioners of the carp-on-the-fly movement, JP applies his knowledge of stream biology, ecology, and geomorphology in his development and application of unconventional fly fishing techniques to pursue carp and other underutilized fish species.

In continuing our avid pursuit to bring innovative, highly-functional and superior quality products to the fly fishing community, we are introducing several new products to market this year. As with all of our products, we spent a lot of time and brain cells designing these packs and bags in Umpqua fashion—which means that we deliberated on the needs of anglers, selected what products would best fulfill those needs, and then designed the products from the ground up to create unique and innovative solutions.
INTRODUCING NICK ADINOLFE — UMPQUA'S NEW DIRECTOR OF OPERATIONS
We're pleased to announce the hiring of our new Director of Operations — Nick Adinolfe. A seasoned operations manager with extensive operations, supply chain, warehousing, and engineering experience, Nick has worked with companies as large as the Samsonite Corporation to smaller organizations with a portfolio ranging from consumer goods to high tech environments. His manufacturing experience — both domestic and international — will broaden our ability to improve services and reduce costs for its customers.

We're thrilled to announce that one of the nation's top anglers, Josh Graffam, is joining Umpqua on April 15, 2015. Josh brings his extensive angling experience to Umpqua where he will take the role of Key Account and International Account Manager. Josh, a graduate of the University of New Hampshire, began his professional angling career as a Guide at Jack Dennis Sports for six years. He then became Head Guide at The Ranch at Rock Creek, and has spent the past 3 ½ years as the Activities Director of Brush Creek Ranch in Saratoga, Wyoming.

Umpqua announced today that all of its leaders and tippet materials shipping in the recently redesigned packaging system are new and vastly improved products. Over the past year and a half, Umpqua has been integrating the new and improved product into the previous generation of packaging. Umpqua’s leader and tippet manufacturing partner has consistently invested in the most modern, cutting-edge equipment that allows for more accurate tolerances during the extrusion process, providing even greater consistency and reliability in the materials and designs.
