"The Mountain Lobster is a fly that I designed in November of 2017 while getting ready for the spring.
The first version was a lot bigger and I still fish it for larger bass a good bit. However, the new, smaller version has been far more successful overall.
The key to the success of this fly is that it has a great hatchling crawfish profile while still having plenty of movement.
I’ve caught just about everything the Texas Hill Country has to offer with this fly and I’ve had a lot of luck with it in the Rockies and Ozarks catching trout on it. This is undoubtedly my go-to creek fly when crawfish are abundant."
