"Dr. David Knowles designed these tailwater midges 25 years ago, then fished them all across the west with great success.
At his passing in the summer of 2022, Knowles was producing these midges for 11 shops around the country at the rate of 50,000 a year.
Tied with holographic tinsel as the base and ribbed with a single strand of cotton embroidery floss, these midges are the staple on the White River system tailwaters in Arkansas.
With tungsten beads in brite silver and copper, they sink like an anchor and fish well throughout the water column.
Brown trout eat them like M&Ms.”
