"The Graveyard Baetis was originally developed out of a need for a highly visible baetis pattern for use during heavy emergence/hatches of baetis on the Bighorn River in southeast Montana.
The success of my Graveyard Midge led me to incorporate the open cell foam on the back and wing buds to a pattern inspired by the baetis patterns of John Barr and Juan Ramirez.
The fusion of the overall silhouette of Barr’s Emerger and Ramirez’s slender abdomen along with the bulbous and highly visible thorax and wing buds of my Graveyard proved to be a big hit with trout.
By using the wide gap, short shank, 1X heavy TMC2457 the final iteration of Graveyard Baetis, and the later Graveyard PMD has helped to get more trout to the net.
The Graveyard Baetis and PMD can be fished from near the surface alone or behind a high floating dry to near the bottom as part of a Euro rig."
