Michael has spent over two decades travelling the globe in search of the world’s most remote wilderness environs…and the meanest fish that call these locales home.
Michael worked for many years at The Fly Shop in Redding, California, where he taught at their kids FishCamp program and fly fishing schools, guided all of Northern California’s famed watersheds, and worked in their international fly fishing travel department.
Today, he manages the sales and operations for Mongolia River Outfitters and Fish Mongolia while continuing to host exotic fly fishing trips all over the world. His unique experience offers him a broad perspective on fly design, with a focus on flies that catch fish, not fishermen.
