A late winter/early spring hatching stonefly, the terrestrial emerger is a fan favorite for dusting off the winter fly fishing blues. For most of us where this hatch is prolific, it marks the start of the year’s fishing season. Smaller than its family member, the golden stonefly, you will want to have a variety of size 12 -14 black, and olive stonefly patterns.
